2 Top Assistant Coaches Are Reportedly Leaving

Two top assistant coaches will reportedly be leaving their respective programs for head coaching gigs at a major level.

Alabama and Georgia are set to meet in the SEC Championship Game this afternoon and the Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs are both reportedly set to lose top coordinators.

Georgia’s defensive coordinator, Mel Tucker, is reportedly set to land the head coaching job at Colorado.

Alabama’s offensive coordinator, Mike Locksley, is reportedly set to land the head coaching gig at Maryland.

“Expect Georgia DC Mel Tucker and Alabama OC Mike Locksley to be on the move after the SEC title game. Sources tell @YahooSports that Tucker is the top candidate at Colorado and Locksley has emerged as the favorite at Maryland,” Pete Thamel tweeted.

An announcement on Tucker’s hiring at Colorado could come on Sunday, while Maryland will probably wait until next week at the earliest.

Stay tuned.
