For Alabama quarterback commits Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson, it was a night to remember on national television.
The future Crimson Tide signal callers each posted jaw-dropping performances in a nationally-televised shootout Friday night as Tagovailoa’s second-ranked Thompson High erased a four-touchdown deficit to beat fifth-ranked Hewitt Trussville, 63-49.
Taulia Tagovailoa rushed for 152 yards on 12 carries and three touchdowns and threw for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help Thompson to its biggest win of the season.
“That was a crazy game,” Tagovailoa said, via AL.com. “Coach (Mark Freeman) has been around for a long time so I’m sure he was. I’ve been putting it in Coach’s ear about letting me cut loose. And my brother has been talking about how slow I am. I think this really shows what kind of heart we have.”
Here’s some of the top highlights for Tagovailoa and Tyson during a game that won’t soon be forgotten:
