Seven players with Alabama football roots have been chosen to play in the Pro Bowl for the 2018 season, with five named as starters for the NFL’s annual all-star game.
The players from state high schools and colleges chosen for the Pro Bowl included:
· Chicago Bears free safety Eddie Jackson (Alabama)
Collins, Jackson and Jones were chosen as starters for the NFC team. Hill and Mosley made the starting lineup for the AFC all-stars.
Ford and Jackson are first-time Pro Bowlers while Rivers was picked for the eighth time. Jones earned his sixth Pro Bowl selection, Mosley was picked for the fourth time and Collins and Hill are Pro Bowlers for the third time apiece. Hill previously had gone to the game as a return specialist, but he’s a wide receiver this time.
The 44-player rosters for the AFC and NFC teams were determined by the votes of fans, coaches and players, with each group’s results counting one-third in the selection process.
The Pro Bowl will be played at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. ESPN will televise the game.
