Alabama’s open week didn’t change its standing in the two polls released Sunday morning.
It remains No. 1 in the AP and coaches polls followed by Clemson, Notre Dame and LSU as the top five remained unchanged.
The Tide (8-0) got all but four first-place votes for the second straight week with Clemson getting the others.
Fourth-ranked LSU is set to present Alabama its biggest challenge of the season at 7 p.m. CT Saturday in Baton Rouge. Another future opponent, Mississippi State, jumped back into both polls at No. 21 after beating Texas A&M on Saturday night.
The first College Football Playoff standings of the season will be released Tuesday.
