The Arizona Cardinals enter Week 15 of the 2018 NFL season in position to have No. 2 pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
A pair of Alabama linemen with the last name of Williams are popular selections for the team with that pick.
Many recent NFL mock draft project Arizona to take either offensive lineman Jonah Williams or defensive lineman Quinnen Williams with the second pick in the NFL draft in 2019.
NFL MOCK DRAFT: Arizona Cardinals to get help for Josh Rosen on offensive line?
Take a look at the latest mock draft projections for the Arizona Cardinals with three weeks left in the NFL regular season.
Draft Wire: Cardinals take Alabama DL Quinnen Williams at No. 2
Luke Easterling writes: “There are bigger needs elsewhere, but dominant interior defenders like Williams are extremely rare. These premium picks are about getting the best available players, and that’s Williams in this scenario.”
CBS Sports: Cardinals select Alabama OT Jonah Williams at No. 2
Ryan Wilson writes: “We currently have him No. 3 on our draft board. And while that could change in the coming months, Williams has been flawless this season for Alabama and is exactly what Josh Rosen and this Cardinals offensive line needs.”
nyupstate.com: Cardinals go with Alabama DT Quinnen Williams at No. 2
Matt Parrino writes: “There’s a number of ways the Cardinals can go with this selection. They could trade down and try to add picks to help build around rookie quarterback Josh Rosen. This is a very top heavy defensive draft and if they stay here there isn’t a ton of value picking a player on that side of the ball. If they go best player available Quinnen Williams could be the pick. He hasn’t officially declared for the draft and the redshirt sophomore could return next season for Alabama. But if he does decide to come out his upside is extremely high and his production late in the season may have edged him pass Houston’s Ed Oliver.”
PREVIOUS PICKS: Who would Arizona Cardinals take with No. 1 NFL draft pick?
nj.com: Cardinals take Alabama OT Jonah Williams at No. 2
It writes: “The Cardinals invested a first-round pick in quarterback Josh Rosen last April, and must allocate significant resources to keeping him upright in his second season and beyond. That begins with taking Williams, the No. 1 overall offensive tackle in the class, with the No. 2 overall pick.”
Sporting News: Cardinals end up with Houston DT Ed Oliver at No. 4
Vinnie Iyer writes: “Oliver might be dropping behind Quinnen Williams as the most desired interior force in the Class of 2019, but it’s not by much. He can disrupt just about everything at 6-3, 292 pounds. His quickness and burst off the snap stands out as a front-changing talent.”
fansided.com: Cardinals pick Alabama OT Jonah Williams at No. 2
Brad Weiss writes: “There are some very good offensive linemen in this draft class, but Jonah Williams from Alabama is the best of the bunch. Williams is a guy who has done nothing but produce during his time with the Crimson Tide, and is a big reason why the team is once again the best team in all of college football.”
Athlon Sports: Cardinals select Mississippi OT Greg Little at No. 2
Bryan Fischer writes: “The Cardinals have their franchise quarterback so it only makes sense that they need to A) find Josh Rosen weapons in the draft and B) protect him. The latter has been much more of an issue for the team, which will also likely have to stay this high to land a quality left tackle. Alabama’s Jonah Williams is a bit more polished but Little’s athleticism will give him the slight edge come April.”
