Ohio State survived Maryland on Saturday, but the Buckeyes hardly looked like a national title contender in the process. Ohio State won the game on a failed two-point try in overtime – which Maryland quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome wishes he had back.
Ohio State gave up 535 yards to the Terrapins – including touchdown runs of 81 yards and 75 yards to running back Anthony McFarland. Maryland rushed for 339 yards on the day.
Clay Travis of Outkick The Coverage isn’t buying the Buckeyes as a national title contender. He thinks that if Ohio State gets by both Michigan and Northwestern, it’ll be a “complete massacre” if the Buckeyes meet Alabama.
It’s hard to disagree after witnessing Saturday’s contest.
Yikes, that was a bad miss. Wide open. How many points would Alabama hang on this Ohio State defense if Buckeyes get past Michigan and Northwestern? Would be a complete massacre. Kind of hope we get to see that.

Ohio State, with the win, is now 10-1 and has just a meeting with Michigan left on its regular season schedule. The contest against the Wolverines will be for the Big Ten East.
Alabama, meanwhile, struggled in the first half against The Citadel but pulled away in the third quarter. The Crimson Tide have been the No. 1 team in the country the entire season, and likely will be heading into the Playoff.
