Darren Rovell Wonders If Alabama’s Dominance Is Bad For College Football

Every year, it seems like there are only a few teams that have a legitimate shot to win the College Football Playoff. And every year, Alabama is the favorite.

One prominent sports personality – Darren Rovell of the Action Network (formerly of ESPN) – wonders if Alabama’s dominance is good for the sport. He took to Twitter to ask the question during Alabama’s game against Oklahoma.

Rovell believes that Tiger Woods’ run in golf was good for the sport – which is hard to deny. He thinks that the Chicago Bulls dynasties in the 1990s were good – along with the recent Golden State Warriors dynasty.

But he also has some examples of teams that weren’t great. He wonders if Alabama is in that group.

Predictably, the tweet has thousands of replies. Some think Alabama’s dominance turns off fans of other teams, while some argue the opposite.

Either way, Alabama isn’t going anywhere. Nick Saban has built a machine in Tuscaloosa, and until he decides to hang it up, the Crimson Tide are going to be a contender every year.

If Alabama can hold on against Oklahoma in the second half, it’ll be playing in its fourth straight national title game.
