Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry rushed for 93 yards on 16 carries on Sunday night to reach the 1,000-yard milestone for the 2018 NFL season.
Henry’s achieved the feat in the Titans’ 33-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, which knocked Tennessee out of the playoff picture and sent the Colts on to the postseason.
Henry finished the season with 1,059 yards and 12 touchdowns on 215 carries. In his first two NFL seasons, Henry had 1,234 yards and 10 touchdowns on 286 carries.
Henry became a 1,000-yard rusher for the first time in the NFL with a big December. The former Alabama All-American ran for 625 yards and eight touchdowns on 97 carries in five games in December. He had more rushing yards in the 12th month than any other player had in any month during the 2018 season.
Henry joined Bobby Humphrey, Shaun Alexander, Eddie Lacey and Mark Ingram as Crimson Tide alumni who have recorded 1,000-yard rushing seasons in the NFL.
Henry became the 14th player from an Alabama high school or college to do so. With Henry’s 2018 performance, those players have combined for 35 1,000-yard seasons.
