ESPN Experts Predict The Winner Of Alabama-Oklahoma

The Alabama-Oklahoma matchup in the Orange Bowl this weekend pits two of the best offenses in the country against each other as they compete in the College Football Playoff Semifinals.

Alabama enters the College Football Playoff not only as the favorite against Oklahoma, but the favorite to win the whole thing again. That sense is reflected in the spread, which some books have set at 14 points in Alabama’s favor.

ESPN polled 17 analysts to get their predictions, but only one of them – Sam Khan Jr. – decided to pick underdog Oklahoma to upset the Crimson Tide.

The 16 other analysts all picked Alabama, with only two expecting Alabama to score fewer than 40 points.

The doubt surrounding Oklahoma is understandable: Whereas Alabama has balanced its strong offense with an equally stout defense, the Sooners have statistically been a middle-of-the-pack defensive unit most of the season.

Nonetheless, all of the analysts predict that Oklahoma will be able to make more of a dent than the majority of Alabama’s opponents this year. Not one of the 17 analysts believes that Oklahoma will be held below 24 points.

Alabama also has the benefit of being undefeated at 13-0, with a comeback win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game staking their claim for the best team in the nation.

The Alabama-Oklahoma game is set to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T.

The game will be televised on ESPN.
