Halftime Performer Reportedly Decided For Alabama-Oklahoma Game

The Alabama-Oklahoma matchup in the Orange Bowl was already primed to be one of the best college football games of the year. But it seems that the game just got the cherry on top if rumors of the halftime performer are true.

According to AP writer Tim Reynolds, Flo Rida will be performing in the halftime show for the Orange Bowl.

Flo Rida was born and raised in Carol City, Florida, only a few blocks away from Hard Rock Stadium, the venue for the Orange Bowl.

The multi-time Grammy Award nominated rapper performed at Hard Rock Stadium for the first time earlier this year for a Miami Dolphins game. The performance was also his first football halftime show.

The stadium seated over 80,000 people when it hosted the BCS National Championship Game in 2013, and could be just as full for the Orange Bowl.

If Flo Rida is indeed the performer, it might be one of the largest audiences he’s ever performed live for.

The first ever Alabama-Oklahoma meeting took place in the 1963 Orange Bowl at the former Miami Orange Bowl stadium. Alabama won that game, 17-0, making it the only time the Crimson Tide have ever beaten the Sooners.
