Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts did not play in the Crimson Tide’s blowout win over No. 3 LSU on Saturday night. Hurts is recovering from a “minor surgery.”
It’s unclear what the status of Hurts is moving forward – Nick Saban has said that the Alabama backup quarterback has looked good in recovery – but his brother issued an injury update on social media.
Hurts’ brother made it clear to people that there’s no such thing as a “minor surgery” and Jalen will be back on the field when he’s completely ready.
“There is absolutely no such thing as a “minor surgery”. Lil bro can’t even move around like he want to . But there’s no timing like God’s timing . He will have you back when HE feels the time is right . Nothing anyone else says matters,” he tweeted.

That’s completely fair.
Hurts obviously cares a lot about this Alabama football season – he could’ve transferred somewhere else if he didn’t – but he has his future to worry about, too.
It does neither him nor Alabama much good if he rushes back and makes an injury worse.
