This is an opinion cartoon.
In a perfect cartoonist’s world, Carville and Charles Barkley would be doing play-by-play and color commentary on everything – sports, politics, dog shows, rodeos, beauty pageants, flower shows, hog killings – EVERYthing.
As for this issue – targeting – Carville has a case. The LSU linebacker Devin White targeting call was borderline. I thought it was just a football play. It was more of a push than an aggressive helmet-to-helmet death crunch.
College football should follow college basketball’s example. A Flagrant One penalty gets your attention. A timeout. Sit down and think about it. Flagrant Two gets you a whooping – sit down for a game. Or two.
Unfortunately, all this hilarious Carville trash talk is now on the Alabama Crimson Tide bulletin board. And there will be hell to pay.
Back to reality.
And back to the epic Alabama-LSU game in a couple weeks. Number One vs Number Four. LSU should be glad it’s a home game. At night. In Death Valley.
Death might be peaceful. But the final score of this game won’t be.
Make up a score. Any score.
Thoughts and prayers.
