Nick Saban Has Major Jalen Hurts Injury Update

With the toughest test of the regular season over for No. 1 Alabama, the Crimson Tide will prepare for a showdown with No. 16 Mississippi State. However, the reigning champions might be without Jalen Hurts once again this Saturday.

The junior quarterback underwent a minor procedure after injuring his ankle, which forced him out of action for almost two weeks. In his absence, Tua Tagovailoa continues to put together a campaign worthy of winning the Heisman Trophy.

Fortunately for the Crimson Tide, Hurts could be returning the gridiron soon.

When discussing his backup quarterback’s health and wideout DeVonta Smith, head coach Nick Saban gave this update:

Saban can take his time with Hurts, especially since the offense is averaging 51.3 points per game.

In eight games this season, Hurts has 589 passing yards and six total touchdowns.

Alabama should be able to handle its business on Saturday. Mississippi State won back-to-back games, but was abysmal in its showdown with LSU.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
