SEC CHAMPIONSHIP LIVE UPDATES: Georgia and Alabama to play for the SEC Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta

ATLANTA – It happened again. Really.

Georgia lost to Alabama and a second-string quarterback for the second time in two seasons Saturday.

The first time it was the national championship game. This time it was for the SEC title and Alabama prevailed 35-28 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Channel 2’s Michael Seiden is at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where Georgia fans were heartbroken.

The Bulldogs looked like they were well on their way to winning the game, but Alabama roared back in the second half, breaking hearts across Dawg Nation.

Fan Tyler Lewis is a diehard Georgia fan who was taking the blow hard.

“I’m done with Atlanta. I’m done with Georgia. The heartbreak is too much,” Lewis said. Another Georgia fan, Owen Katz, said he is disappointed but already looking forward to getting revenge next season.

“It’s disappointing, especially to lose to them two years in a row, but we will probably beat them next year,” Katz said.

For Alabama fans it was a different story.

“Oh my God! It was extraordinary,” Crimson Tide fan Vanessa Collins said. “It was fantastic and Bama has done this over and over again.”
