Top Notre Dame Assistant Reportedly Decides On Alabama Job

A top Notre Dame football assistant coach has reportedly decided on a job with Nick Saban at Alabama.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long was reportedly in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday, discussing a job with the Crimson Tide.

Matt Zenitz of AL.com reported the news.

“Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long was also in Tuscaloosa today, according to sources. It looks like he could join the staff in some capacity even if/when Steve Sarkisian is hired as offensive coordinator,” he tweeted.

It doesn’t look like Long will be heading to Alabama, though.

247Sports is reporting that Long won’t be going to Alabama.

“Sunday morning, a source told Irish Illustrated that Long was “not going to Bama.” Irish Illustrated has not received official confirmation, however, that Long will return to Notre Dame,” the report says.

Stay tuned.
