Tracking Alabama players in Week 9 action

Alabama was well-represented in Week 9 of the regular season at the professional level, as several former Crimson Tide standouts were contributors for new teams across the NFL.

A total of six former Alabama players scored touchdowns during Week 9, including five on the offensive side of the football. Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard scored two of them Sunday, while Atlanta Falcons wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper and Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry all scored one.

It was the first touchdown of the season for Jones, who has 933 yards on 60 receptions.

Defensively, Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson scooped up a fumble and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown. He became the second player in NFL history to score at least three defensive touchdowns of 65-plus yards over any two-year span. The other to do it was Deion Sanders.

Inactive this weekend was 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster (hamstring), Packers cornerback Tony Brown (hip), Ravens linebacker Tim Williams (ankle) and Titans fullback Jalston Fowler. The only active player that did not play was Ravens offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman.

Teams with Week 9 bye weeks included the Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. All six of those teams have Alabama players. There are no players on the active rosters for the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings or Pittsburgh Steelers.
