Week 7 picks and predictions

The Crimson Tide hasn’t been challenged this season and wants to keep rolling. Missouri is seeking its first SEC win.

Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa against Missouri’s Drew Lock. Lock is second in the league in passing yards per game while Tagovailoa is third despite not yet playing in a fourth quarter and often sitting out much of the second half. He leads the nation in passing efficiency.

Missouri: RBs Larry Rountree and Damarea Crockett both rank among the SEC’s top 10 rushers. If they can have some success it could open up opportunities for Lock & Co.

Alabama: CB Saivion Smith is a logical replacement for an injured Trevon Diggs, who could be out for the season with a broken foot. Smith started the first three games.

The teams last met in the 2014 SEC championship game, a 42-13 Tide victory. This is Missouri’s first visit to Tuscaloosa. … Alabama has won 21 consecutive games over opponents from the SEC East, including an overtime victory over Georgia in the national title game in January. The Tide has also won 22 straight at Bryant-Denny Stadium. … Alabama has produced 500-plus yards in all six games, the program’s first such six-game streak.
